Since 1981, LAMP has turned to Saint Joseph as the “chaste spouse of our Blessed Mother and patron of the Universal Church”. LAMP especially looks to Saint Joseph for help in meeting our various practical needs. He has never failed us! We are so grateful for Saint Joseph’s faithfulness and consistent intercession.
One way in which LAMP strives to honor Saint Joseph is through the prayer each LAMP Missionary offers daily at noon (see above). As missionaries with the poor and homeless, we draw strength from the fact that Saint Joseph himself experienced the poverty that we encounter daily. Saint Joseph’s gentle response to the poor is the same one every LAMP Missionary desires to cultivate: to lift a lamp, revealing to the world the only Face that can satisfy the depth of our need.
